Olivia’s House relies on community-minded individuals and organizations to help us continue our mission of serving grieving families.
When our founder developed the mission of Olivia’s House, one of the questions she was often asked was, “How will it be funded, and more importantly, sustained?” Her vision was to create a center built by the community, for the community. As an independent free-standing grief center, Olivia’s House does not receive funding from the state or any parent company. In-fact, over 91% of our funding comes directly from our community . . . people and businesses like you!!! We are grateful for each and every dollar donated. Each contribution represents a distinct faith in our cause and creates an even stronger environment of healing energy. Please help Olivia’s House continue to be the primary resource for grief and loss education by making a donation today. Not all donations involve entering your credit card, to learn about other ways to donate, click on the links below.

More Ways to Donate
Each year, Olivia’s House looks for an individual or business to match a portion/percentage of the contributions that we receive through our annual mail appeal.
Having a matching partner helps Olivia’s House double a portion of the proceeds from the campaign… thereby doubling the support for the children of Olivia’s House!
If you are interested in being a matching “Heart Partner” in the future, please contact our Development Director at (717) 699-1133.

Olivia’s House is proud to be a Virtual Partner with CommunityAid!
If you have clothing or shoes you wish to donate, drop them off at ANY CommunityAid Donation Center.
You must provide our assigned Partner Number (#50014) and organization name to the door associate upon drop off, so Olivia’s House receives the donation credit.
If you have any questions, please contact our Development Director .

Many companies sponsor gift programs that will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Some even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. These programs are a great way for companies to support Olivia’s House and a chance for you to double or even triple your gift!

One of the most thoughtful ways to honor the memory of a family member, friend or colleague is to make a contribution in his or her name and suggest that others do the same.
Advise family and friends that a memorial fund has been set up with Olivia’s House. In the newspaper obituary or funeral notice, indicate that “donations may be made to Olivia’s House, 830 South George Street, York, PA 17403” or “in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Olivia’s House, 830 South George Street, York, PA 17403.”
You can set up the memorial fund by contacting our Development Director at (717) 699-1133 to let us know that you have suggested donations be made to Olivia’s House. We will send a thank you letter to each donor and forward the names and addresses of all donors to the family member or other party that you have indicated to keep them apprised of anyone who has lovingly gifted Olivia’s House.
Funeral Director Notices
When making funeral arrangements, the funeral director should be able to offer you cards that can be completed and made available at the funeral home that indicate your request that donations be made to Olivia’s House.
Do you wish to support Olivia’s House but don’t have a large amount of time to give? A great way to help is by participating in our “Pay it Forward” initiative!
Simply write a letter or email to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers asking them to donate books of stamps to Olivia’s House.
Olivia’s House works extremely hard to dedicate incoming dollars directly to children’s programs. You can be a part of the process by joining in our “Pay it Forward” stamp program. The flow of incoming stamps means that dollars do not have to be diverted to postage and can go directly to the children and their families.
Please contact our Development Director at 717-699-1133 for more information or for a sample letter to get you started.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a way to donate money from an IRA to a qualified charity while satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and potentially reducing your taxes. Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you reach age 72. To learn more, please contact your trusted wealth management professional or our Development Director at 717-699-1133.
