The Workshop Series

In the Summer of 2019, Olivia's House will be hosting its first ever Workshop Series. This three-part series is open to anyone in the community wishing to learn more about children's bereavement. Founder and Bereavement Specialist Leslie Delp will be joined by Program Director Julia Dunn as we provide education and answer common questions from parents and guardians. If your family has experienced a loss and you have questions about what to do next, the Workshop Series is for you! Join us for ANY or all of the evenings, but please be sure to RSVP by clicking on each of the links below!

My Child is Hurting, What Do I Do Now?
Tuesday, June 4, 2019
6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

After a loss, we all go through a natural bereavement process. In this workshop, we will teach what that process looks like for children and adults and how you can best support your child through their grief. Join us if you have general questions about your child's healing or if you have experienced a loss and aren't sure where to turn.

What should I expect of my grieving child? Infants, children, and teenagers all grieve, but coping and healing look different based on their age. Join us for this workshop as we discuss what to expect from each age group after a loss and how best to support your child's healing.

Tuesday, August 6, 2019
6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

When a parent dies, especially when it is sudden and unexpected, "grandfamilies" are born. Grandparents are often left to raise their grandchildren. How do you parent a second time around when both you and your grandchild are mourning? Attend this workshop for a look into this increasingly common family structure and how to play an active role in your grandchild's healing.
